7. Working with yourself

To accomplish more and move your career forward, you must learn to work effectively with yourself. This can be the difference between having a fulfilling career and one which is draining and entirely demotivational.

The five steps involved in working efficiently and effectively are:

Become very good at deciding what to do next Efficiency experts all agree focusing single-mindedly on one key task is more efficient than trying to do several things at the same time. Look at what you should be doing to achieve the most and then cut off any potential distractions and focus. If necessary, set a 30-minute timer and concentrate on working at maximum capacity on your most important task until the timer goes off.
